Hollywood, CA -- Consumer advocate and five-time White House aspirant Ralph Nader took a surprise "Best Actor" Oscar at the 80th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night. Mr. Nader, who turns 74 this week, received recognition from his acting peers for his powerhouse portrayal of a viable U.S. Presidential contender.
"I've never actually won anything before, except lawsuits," an emotional Nader told the audience gathered at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre. "It feels good, just wonderful. You love me; you really, really love me!"
Reaction to Mr. Nader's achievement was mixed. Always a controversial figure, the charismatic and dashing attorney was praised by many of his fellow thespians.
"The best man won," said long-shot "Best Actor" nominee George Clooney. "Ralph works hard at his craft and has turned in yet another virtuoso performance. He's established himself as the greatest fake candidate since H. Ross Perot."
Other movie industry icons were harshly critical of the surprise Oscar, however. Some of them characterized it as gratuitous, undeserved, and awarded chiefly on the basis of Mr. Nader's boyish good looks and commercial success as a best-selling author.
"This is an outrage," legendary director and fugitive Roman Polanski complained via satellite link from France. "I'll never forgive him for throwing the 2000 'Best Actor' award to Gladiator's Russell Crowe. Tom Hanks in Cast Away was clearly the people's choice that year, but Nader split the Academy's vote."
The evergreen Green Party activist brushed off the criticism leveled against him and spoke of his future plans instead.
"I may as well tell you I have agreed to star in No Country for Old Men II: Unsafe at Any Speed," Mr. Nader said in his acceptance speech to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. "It's set in Washington, DC and will be very exciting, especially the car chases because no one ever gets hurt. I play an aging lawyer suffering from dementia who, due to a freak combination of circumstances, becomes the most important and powerful figure in government."
"I can wait for production to begin," the feisty whistle-blower continued. "It's the role I was born to play: Ralph Nader—attorney, advocate, environmentalist, and crusader."

This article is very missleading and I made myself look like an idiot because you wrote the wrong information. Ralph Nader has never won the best actor award. He has actually never even been in a movie. He has appeared in TV shows and that's it. If you could email me and explain why you would write something as idiotic and stupid than please do. I would really like to be proven wrong with some evidence to why he won. Thanks.
